Alvin Achariya is a Partner in the Insurance practice group. His legal career spans over a decade with expertise in personal injury law.

Previously working as a Senior Associate at a mid-tier law firm he acted for the Victorian Workcover Authority in Section 138 recovery proceedings against negligent third parties. Having had a leadership role in his team Alvin is committed to mentoring and supervising lawyers and administrative staff to assist with their professional development.

Alvin was also a former member of the in-house legal team (Dispute Management Practice) at Victorian WorkCover Authority where he acted on behalf of employers in the defence of claims brought on by injured workers. This involved both statutory benefits matters and common law matters. He has acted for plaintiffs both in New South Wales and Victoria in relation to a wide variety of personal injury matters, which included WorkCover, transport accident, total and permanent disablement claims, victims of crime, public liability and common law matters. He has also acted for a municipal council in the defence of public liability proceedings.

Alvin is passionate about obtaining the best possible results for his clients whilst employing a practical and realistic approach in his dealings. Alvin is highly regarded for his people skills and prides himself on being able to quickly establish and maintain a great working relationship with his clients and stakeholders.

Outside of work Alvin enjoys sports, travelling, food and wine.
